MA Counselling and Psychotherapy
Welcome.
If you are a Placement provider, Personal therapist or Supervisor, you will find information listed under the relevant headings. Please note that we only keep approved lists for placements and supervisors. Students are free to choose their own personal therapists as long as they meet the qualifying criteria. To join our approved lists please look at the information below for how to do this.
Please take a look and email any enquiries or feedback to [email protected]
This is also the email address for all completed forms and documentation for applications to join our approved networks
Supervision
Placement
If you can offer a placement to one of our students completing their BACP or UKCP qualifications, please use the forms below. All placement partners* are required to complete the relevant forms and send requested information and evidence. Once these are received and checked then it is possible for us to have our students on placement with you as an approved placement provider.
*Except the NHS which is covered by separate contractual and governance arrangements.
Personal Therapy
If you would like to work with one of our students as they study for their BACP or UKCP qualifications they will be in touch with the relevant forms to complete - this is all done via their online portfolio. We do not hold a register of approved therapists; students are free to choose their own therapist as long as they meet the qualifying criteria to work with the BACP or UKCP requirements for students following these pathways.
Below you will see information shared with students about personal therapy and examples of agreements in place when you begin to work with our students.

For Students
You'll be given permission to access these lists by the PPU team the first time you try to use them. There may be a short delay the first time.
All Supervisors and Placement providers working with our students are required by the university to complete application forms and submit required documents. Any that are not willing to do this means that, unfortunately, they will not be able to join our approved lists and therefore not be able to work with you.
You'll also find some useful documents to help you prepare for placement interviews and questions to consider whilst looking for a personal therapist.
